Rethink everything. PPG Smoke’s Unity Headset is the industry-leading pinnacle of active and passive noise canceling for listening to music, taking calls, vLogging, charging your GoPro, phone, or checking in with your local tower, while you fly.
Hear What Matters
Paramotors operate between 100 and 140+ decibels. At 80+ decibels, permanent hearing damage can begin to occur. Unity is built on a 6 microphone hybrid active noise canceling array. It's on an existing hardware stack comprised of Bluetooth® and, Qualcomm® aptX™ audio with Qualcomm® cVc™ noise cancellation.
Unity replaces 3M Peltor earmuffs providing up to -36 decibels of combined active and passive noise reduction. It’s entirely self-contained with only a single wire between left and right 45mm drivers.
From well-planned adventures to last-minute solo fly-camps, audio and connectivity, while we fly, is an imperative part of our journey. To date, product solutions have been non-existent or feature devoid and expensive.
Todays Market
Companies like NVolo, Aviator, Nirvana, and Micro Avionics offer pre-packaged solutions that close some of the feature-gap we look for. Yet, they can cost $1500+ only to utilize $30 hardware from Alibaba.
Ad-hoc builds can cost north of $400. For those of you who have taken the time to build a cobbled together Senna helmet or have purchased an ‘industry-leading’ product in this category, you are well aware, they perform terribly. You can't hear anything and pilots typically defer to wearing earbuds under their ear cups, regardless of their decibel reduction ratings.
Custom builds result in unnecessary work, wasted time, spaghetti helmets, horrible audio quality, and poor peripheral connectivity while remaining feature devoid at the expense of time and money.
Manufacturing
Made on earth. PPG Smoke is owned and mutually financed by Sunrado as a house brand, with domestic P&L management by founder Ryan R. To date, Ryan has delivered over 30 million dollars in consumer packaged goods.
Sunrado is well regarded as one of the few facilities in Shenzhen capable of producing OEM/ODM under one roof. We specialize in consumer packaged goods, consumer electronics, FDA medical equipment, and industrial products. Our team consists of 50-80 employees versed in manufacturing, industrial design, prototyping, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and device bring-up.
Where do we (Sunrado) fall short? (ANC) Active noise canceling… Instead of investing hundreds of thousands of dollars in already existing technology, we have identified and partnered with one of the world's leading providers of ANC technology. We are working in close cooperation to solve acoustic, electronic, mechanical, and embedded software engineering needs.
Further, AK produces millions of units per year specifically for Emirates airlines and numerous other global brands. Licensing already existing technology and expertise has the obvious advantage of offsetting costs while yielding great products. AK will complete all of our electromechanical design and handle sub-assembly while Sunrado (PPG Smoke) will validate and package for distribution globally.
