Adventure Flight Suit

In partnership with Backcountry PPG - PPG Smoke is excited to introduce our new paramotor flight suits! From the depths of the coldest glaciers, to the tops of the most rugged mountains, this flight suit was born for fridged adventures. This suit has been crafted from the finest materials known to man, with fuction being the main focus. Every piece of this suit has been methodically considered, tested, and tweaked to ensure they work like a flight suit should.

These were previously launched last winter through Backcountry PPG and feedback was strong. Since then, we've continued to improve on the design, add a few small touches, and improve the overall quality of the suit. The stiching is better, velcro is stronger, and overall build quality is improved. We've added a leg flight deck attachment buckle on the hip, so you can continue to comfortably run the leg flight deck.

Sizing:

For reference: the pilot in the photo is 5'9 and 180 lbs. The suit he is wearing is a medium and a large would be best if he planned to add many layers under it. The medium fit on him is snug but comfortable. His wears a 34x32 pant and a size large shirt. From what we have seen it's best to size according to the shirt size you typically wear. This will give you the ability to add layers underneath. They run slighly large.

Insluation:

The lightly insulated suit is a 2 layer made for the moderately cold temps unless you layer underneath it. Without any additional layering these are very nice in 40 degrees and above. With a handful of layers under and they are warm up to whatever level of layering you're able to do. If the temps are much warmer than 60 degrees you will be hot.

Advantages Of A Flight Suit:

Flight suits offer a few strong advantages for cold weather flying. Firstly, the biggest advantage is a lack of gaps between the entire thing from top to bottom. Traditional jacket and pants leave a gap at your hip whihc allows for cool air to come in, and warm air to go out. This usually isn't a big deal, but our enviroment is slightly different due to the constant cool breeze we experience while flying. The flight suit being one continuous layter makes it easier to be warm and stay warm.

Hip Hook:

The flight suit comes equipped with a metal hook on the pilots right hip so you can still attach and use our Leg Flight Deck. This metal hook is to act as an anchoring spot for lanyards or teathers.

Dual Front Pockets:

The new Adventure Flight Suit comes with a dual zipper in the front, a left and right, to offer storage capacity. Both zippers are a YKK zipper and are angled slightly down on the edges to make opening and closing simple and easy.

Fleece Lined:

The inside of the flight suit is lined with fleece, which helps you stay warmer with less layers underneath. This is addition to the multi layer build out the flight suit itself, and is a small thing that begins to make a big difference in keeping you warm.

Metal Boot Hook:

The Flight Suit is anchored to your book via a metal hook, similar to ski/snowboarding pants. This attaches to the laces of your boot and is very effective at keeping the lower section of the flight suit secrured. boot gaiters can be very helpful at protecting the boot to pant gap / opening depending on the temprature. 

Dual Zipper:

The Flight Suit is built with zippers that go in both directions for the main zippers, that way you can zip up from the bottom or down from the top making it easier to put on or take off over boots and other layers.
