The PPG Smoke U-Float system is a tested and proven paramotor, paragliding, and hang gliding floatation system to keep you and your gear safe in case of a water landing. Let's face it, water is some of the most fun terrain to fly over for a handful reasons. Seeing your reflection, enjoying the smooth conditions, or just exploring the shoreline is something we all enjoy.

However water brings risk, and if you go into the water you need to take steps towards ensuring you're safety and recovery of the equipment. Floatation devices, like the PPG Smoke Dual Float or U-Float, is a step in that direction. Having something to help catch you and keeps you afloat reduces your risk BIG TIME. Water risk is serious, and floats have proven to help reduce that. For a small investment you can have some serious safety.

The U-Float system is housed in a ultra rugged cordura fabric, and built with a 10 point velcro mounting system that makes installation truly effortless. This is compatable with a wide range of paramotor frames, and can adapt to just about any frame or cage style. It's simple, bulletproof, and ready to inflate when you need it with 300N of buoyancy.

The U shape is designed to inflate around the most critical part of your body - your head. This gives you more buoyancy where you really need it and helps keeps you above water and breathing.

Floatation in all honesty is one of those items we truly hope you never need to use. But in the off chance you ever do need to use it, we hope you have it. Floats are a simple, affordable, and easy way to help midigate the risk of water - which is very risky for us. They're a safety net, for you, and your equipment. We firmly believe every paramotor pilot should fly with floats anytime they're near water.

#1 - Innovative Functionality

When a water landing happens, specialized "bobbins" dissolve, releasing a puncture needle into the CO2 cartridge. This triggers bladder inflation, filling them up and creating the buoyancy.

The U Float's dual-bladder design, with individual left and right bladders, holds a combined inflation capacity of up to 300N displacement—over twice the size of an adult life jacket. Alternatively, each bladder can be manually inflated via an oral inflation tube (both left and right) and a manual CO2 inflation pull-string.

#2 - Effortless Mounting

The U Float System accommodates most paramotor frames, boasting 10 attachment points for any configuration. Its universal attachment system can attach to a wide range of frame widths and even harness shoulder straps. The U-Float is made to be as discreet as possible until needed. It's slim, it's light, and you won't notice it in your day to day flying.

#3 - Redundant Dual 33g CO2 Inflation System

The PPG Smoke U Float set's a new standard with a dual CO2 inflation system to provide redundancy. In the off chance one system doesn't fire, the othe will. Dual systems reduce the risk of total failure, and ensure you're as protected as possible. Redundancy is key in risk mitigation.

#4 - Adaptable for Weight-Shift or Fixed-Arms

Unlike designs tailored for specific uses, the U Float features a slightly narrower width, allowing for greater versatility. Unlike frame-based attachments that obstruct weight-shift systems, our design ensures uninterrupted control. It fits fixed arm, or weight-shift frame designs.

#5 - Enhanced Inflation System

Our meticulous approach extends to the inflation system itself. With an enlarged radiused nut and factory-set torque specifications, CO2 is distributed more efficiently from the cartridge to the bladder.

Recharging

To reset, simply remove the used CO2 cartridge and bobbin, deflate the bladder, and replace the components. It's as simple as unscrew, deflate, and reload for your next overwater adventure. Recharge kits can be found on our website.

Dual Float vs U-Float:

We commonly get asked which style of floatation we recommend, and wanted to give you some pros and cons to both of them. They are both great systems, and do a great job at helping keep you and equipment afloat, but they do have unique advantages over each other. The Dual Float system is more sleek, minimalistic, and easy to "set and forget" that it is there. Mounting on the side of the main frame and it's likely you forget you even have it. The U-Float is designed to keep your head above water more easily and longer, but is more bulky than the dual float. For extreme water flying we highly recommend the U-Float, for more casual water flying we recommend the Dual Float.
