Our Idea Behind This Helmet Build:

In the world of paramotoring there are dozens of helmet options, setups, and prices. This often leads to confusion behind what to get and whats a waste of money. Over the last few years our team has tested, tried, and learned what setup we prefer for ourselves and our students. This build is a "ready to rock" complete helmet setup for the every day paramotor pilots regardless of what they’re trying to do. It has all the bells and whistles you need, without the extra fufu. If you're an XC pilot looking to chat with your wingman, or chat with GA traffic, you have the ability to connect a radio. If you're the cruise around town pilot looking to listen to your music, you have bluetooth connection for your cell phone. If noise protection is important to you, this build has industry leading 40dB protection. If sound quality matters, we have industry leading sound quality. Regardless of the mission, the pilot, and the environment, this helmet is ready to go.

#1 - No science projects

The complete helmet build by PPG Smoke is a "one and done" ready to go "out of the box" helmet build for the every day paramotor pilot. This helmet build doesn't require any drilling, dremeling, soldering, riveting, or messing with wires. This build is complete, from top to bottom, and ready to rock and roll. We've done the heavy lifting, so you don't have to.

#2 - Bluetooth compatible

Your helmet needs to have bluetooth connection, that way you can either connect a cell phone or a radio. Connecting your cell phone gives you the ability to listen to audio ques of nearby traffic, listen to music or make phone calls. Being able to communicate via cell phone can be important in flight, and you have the ability to do so with this build.

#3 - Radio cable compatible

Another key piece of this helmet build is having the ability to connect a radio cable to the headset in partnership with the bluetooth system. Radio's can be important for talking with your instructor, fellow paramotor pilots, or general aviation traffic. Having the ability to connect your cell phone for music, and connect a radio via cable gives you options and the ability to pick and choose based on the mission at hand. Chat with your buddy on the phone, while making key radio calls to nearby airplanes, all in one headset.

#4 - Industry leading noise protection (40db)

Noise protection is key with paramotor headsets, and the PPG Smoke v5 Headsets are industry leading with a combine 40dB in noise cancellation. The v5 Headsets use a combination of passive noise protection and active noise protection to drown out baseline noise, and to target and cut out the noises we commonly hear: wind, prop, engine, etc. The passive noice protection, aka the earmuffs themselves have a dB rating of 24. The active noise protection, which is tuned to reduce the wind noise, propeller noise, and engine noise, adds an additional 16dB in key noise protection. These two combine block out a total of 40dB which is 10dB more than you typcially see. Pair this with any MMCX earbud and you could double the protection.

Sound quality is important with a helmet, that way you can either clearly hear your instructor / other pilots, or you can clearly hear your music. The PPG Smoke V5 Headsets have industry leading sound quality, and in flight you're able to clearly hear what's being played. This isn't just the clarity of the sound, but also the total volume too. You're able to turn the total volume up much louder than comparable bluetooth systems.

#1 - The Helmet - Icaro Solar X 

The first part of this helmet build is the helmet shell itself. There are lots of options, and all of them are great in their own way. The Icaro Solar X helmet lineup is a beautiful combination between lightweight, durable, and comfortable. The fully carbon exterior of the helmet keep the complete weight of this helmet light. The internal padding is comfortable and it is easily adjustable to any size or shaped head. The fit and finish and build quality is clearly made to last, and these helmets are overall a great choice for paramotor pilots.

#3 - Small Stuff:

The build also includes the little thing that are needing to actually mount the headset onto the helmet. This includes the PPG Smoke Headset hardware, the correct bolts for the Icaro helmet , and a small amount of blue locktight to ensure the bolts don't backout.
