More Light, More Fun, More Safe.

Introducing the PPG Smoke "Wingtip" Strobe System. This three light system is FAR 103 compliant and is designed to be functional & of course - fun! This is the same strobe as our stand alone strobe and to activate you simply sync them together, and enjoy 3 sycronized lights flashing as you please. Commonly pilots place one light in each wingtip, and one on their helmet or paramotor. These strobes are equipped with 8 LED lights and each strobe emits 2080 lumens. The strobes are designed with 4 LED lights on each side for a full 360 degree flash.

The strobe system is simple: sync the 3 strobes up together, place the two "slave" strobes in each wingtip, and once you power on the "master" strobe they will all begin flashing. Commonly pilots will turn on and place the slave strobes in the wingtips prior to launch, and power on the master strobe at dusk. We recommend placing the master strobe in an easy to reach location, either using our 3m adhesive for your helmet, or our unique strobe mount for your main frame. Once you power on the master strobe, all three strobes will begin flashing. Without the master strobe being on, the two slave strobes with be waiting in standby mode. Our strobes have a 20 hour battery life in the standby mode and up to a 2 hour battery life when flashing. These means the slave strobes can be in standby for long periods of time without worry about battery life.

We packed our previous strobe technology into a redesigned system. New self healing wireless synchronization gives pilots 2-3x the range, underpinned by a RF laboratory improved PCBA based antenna. Energy density is supplied by a small lithium polymer battery with 2x circuit voltage protection. The onboard battery BMS and the charging IC are both designed to keep safety first. The small 54x54x24mm form factor paramotor strobe system includes one master strobe and two wingtip strobes. It’s 2x as bright, 57% smaller and 64% lighter than our previous design.

These strobes are commonly used for either big trikes looking to have 3 total strobes, or for pilots looking for wingtip strobes.

7 Key Features:

#1 - More Light Can Be More Safe:

More light isn't just more fun, it can also be more safe for you and other pilots. During civil twilight we are legally allowed to fly under FAR 103 as long as we have a strobe that is vible for 3 miles. During typical air conditions, 3 miles is visible with a 1000 lumen strobe. However that doesn't mean you are actually easy to see. Having 3 strobes flashing in sync that are all visible in 360 degrees and 2080 lumens just ensure you're not only legal, but very visible. These 3 strobes can make you more visible for other paramotor pilots, and general aviation pilots. More light is more fun, and can be more safe.

#2 - Mount Them Where You Want:

The Strobe System doesn't have to be mounted in any single way. This system can be mounted however you'd like it to be! Commonly, the main way the strobe system is used is one strobe in each wingtip, and one on you. The strobe on your helmet or main frame acts as the master strobe and the two wingtip strobes act as the slave strobes. The other common way of using the strobe system is having all 3 strobes on your paramotor. There are a bunch of different options here, and if you use our unique strobe mount you're able to mount all 3 wherever you would like. Pilots that fly large trikes often love using our strobes on different locations across their trike, to ensure they're very visible in flight.

#3 - 8 LED Lights That Are 2080 Lumens:

The PPG Smoke strobe is built with 8 seprate LED lights that release 2080 lumens into the night sky. There are 4 individual led lights on the front, and 4 on the back, giving your a full 360 degree flash. This strobe is not just directional like the common strobe, and this means it doesn't matter which direction it is facing, or you are facing, you will be able to easily see the strobe. 2080 Lumens is also overkill and is more than double the average strobe which has 1000 lumens. Legally FAR 103 requires 1000 lumens for flying in civil twilight, and the PPG Smoke strobe doubles that.

#4 - Simple, Easy, And Ready To Go:

A strobe needs to be simple, one swtich, either on or off. NO pressing and holding for 4 seconds, then double tapping and spinning it around... yeah, some strobes are like that. A strobe needs to be effortless to turn on and know it's on. The PPG Smoke Strobe has a single on and off switch that is easy to reach and feel while in flight. Plus it has 3 flashing options that are easy to toggle via seprate switches leaving the power button to do only one thing - power it on and off. This Strobe makes life easy!

#5 - Battery Life:

The PPG Smoke Strobe battery life is up to 2 hours of continuous use. This is more than enough to get you through a weekend of flying without worrying about charging it up. Battery life is a trade off, and making a larger battery makes the entire strobe larger and heavier, and one of the best parts about the PPG Smoke Strobe is how slim, simple, and lightweight it is. Charge time via USB-C is 3 hours, depending on cord and plug in location.

#6 - Unique Flash Settings:

The Strobe by PPG Smoke has a handful of unique flash settings. The standard flash is a single flash on all 8 LED lights every 1-2 seconds. You can toggle on our glow feature which will leave all 8 LED lights at half brightness continuously, and flashing to full brightness every 1-2 seconds. You can then toggle our double flash, which will flash twice back to back, every 1-2 seconds. The glow feature can also be toggled with the double flash. These options are easy to toggle, and you do not need to change/toggle them every time you go to use them. Once set they stay set until you change them. In the photo above, on the right side of the toggle, you can see 3 switches. This is how you will toggle the glow and double flash. All 3 strobes can be changed to flash however you would like them to.

Paring & Synchronizing:

• Turn on the helmet strobe while holding down the tactile switch. The helmet strobe will begin flashing and broadcasting its new unique pairing key. Leave the helmet strobe on, it’s ready to pair with any number of wingtip strobes.
• To pair an RX strobe turn it on while holding down the tactile switch. The RX strobe will enter a pairing mode. The 4 LED’s on top will begin flashing in sequence. The wingtip strobe will now pair with any helmet strobe that it detects and synchronizes.
• Both units can now be powered off and their keys will be stored.
